DESCRIPTION:Do you long for a clear process to help you proclaim the Good News of the Gospel to all? \nThe course also aims to help preachers to offer to hearers the reality of divine transformation as the heart of the gospel proclamation. \nIt is based on the book Good News Preaching: Offering the Gospel in Every Sermon by Gennifer Benjamin Brooks (Nashville: Abingdon Press\, 2009).  \nThis course is built on videos filmed during the 2022 Workshop of the Styberg Preaching Institute. The course is free to all (with registration) because of the generosity of the Styberg Preaching Institute in celebration of its 20th anniversary.

DESCRIPTION:“Tenderness and Refuge: Ministry with and for Young Adults” focuses on six prevailing themes from years of research with young adults yearning for faith community. These themes include a desire for  \n\ninclusive communities\,  \nrelatable leadership\,  \nan emphasis on relationships\,  \nan emphasis on spirituality\, and  \nan emphasis on social justice\,  \nalongside an ambivalence towards the Christian label. \n\nThis mini-course is beneficial for church groups\, youth ministers\, and anyone invested in young adults. It features Garrett-Evangelical alums\, friends\, scholars\, and practitioners. It highlights their approach\, rooted in deep listening to young adults’ experiences through ethnographic research.   \nEach module includes a recorded video conversation\, reflection questions\, and next steps for engagement.  \nYou will earn a downloadable certificate of completion once you have finished all the modules.  \nFunded by a generous grant from the Lilly Endowment\, Inc. and produced by the Young Adult Initiative at 91PORN.

SUMMARY:Professional Sexual Ethics: Sexual Health\, Boundaries and Abuse Prevention
DESCRIPTION:The 91PORN invites all to enroll in a class on professional sexual ethics taught by Dr. Kate Ott\,  the Jerre and Mary Joy Stead Professor of Christian Social Ethics at Garrett Seminary.  This subject will be explored through the analysis of aspects of sexuality education\, spiritual care and ministerial behavior\, including sexuality\, power\, boundaries\, and the personhood or character of the minister.  It exceeds criteria for sexual boundaries\, ethics\, and harassment prevention required by most denominations. The course layout is a mix of synchronous and asynchronous learning that will be offered in the cohort stream of offerings on our digital platform.
