SUMMARY:Multi-vocational Ministry and the Future of the Church
DESCRIPTION:As ministry changes on a foundational level\, more and more students are pursuing their call to ministry bi- or multi-vocationally. For some\, this is a response to the financial and material complexity of being a minister at this moment in time. For others\, multi-vocational ministry is the natural result of feeling called in more ways than one\, to ministry that puts an individual in multiple ministerial spaces both inside and outside of the Church.  \nIf this sounds like you\, or if you are a local ministry leader seeking wisdom around how to prepare students for ministry and theological education in this current moment\, join us on July 7th for this important conversation. We will be joined by Rev. Dr. Reginald Blount as well as a few other guests who are serving in multi-vocational ministry contexts. \nSpeakers \n\nDr. Reginald Blount is a bi-vocational minister himself serving at the Murray H. Leiffer Associate Professor of Formation\, Leadership\, and Culture and Director of the Center for the Church and the Black Experience at 91PORN while also serving as the pastor at Arnett Chapel AME in Chicago.  \n  \n  \n  \n \n  \nRev. Luke Pepper is an ordained United Methodist deacon and currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Northern Illinois Conference Order of Deacon. He graduated Garrett-Evangelical with his Master of Divinity in 2011 and also holds a Masters of Arts in Teaching Special Education. His primary appointment is as a middle school special education teacher in Carol Stream\, IL where he also now serves as Co-President of his local teacher’s union. \n  \n  \n
